As I sip this sweet wine and run my finger round its tip am in deep thought. The gentle breeze is courteous enough to sort of blow my troubles away and not my hair. I can only imagine what would happen if I am on my fifth round of this stuff. Last time a similar scenario happened I saw four types of skies when i rose up from the chair and I don’t remember how I got to bed…did I even dream? Or at least I wished I was the next morning when the terrible hang down consumed my peace. Damn it! I always learn this lesson every  time and maybe the main lesson I am yet to learn is to finally learn it! Don’t we always swear never to drink again at this point? Then we do and again we swear until it becomes a tune to the mind. Anyway, having said that, today’s pen and paper point edition focuses on the lessons we learn in life, those that we fight and those that we make people learn from our testimonies. We all encounter that brutal ‘I wish I knew’ moment that drags us to a limited zone of life. However, lessons are more so like steps; you learn that they are steep, they take you higher and you step on each to move on to the next. Period! That’s just how it is point blank. There is no need to wallow in your failures or disappointments. That man who made you cry over and over again. That lady who made you waste a whole lot of your precious time. They were only worth it before you learn the lesson, after you do, they become NON-FACTORS! Soo…accept things went south, they caught you off-guard and now you are on another level. Alicia Keys’ Lesson Learned is a forte that sends the message home. It brings the occurrences into perspective and the tone of acceptance in the song is coupled with a strong-willed character that is determined to move on to the next challenge. Written by one of the best songstresses in the world of RNB and Neo-soul, Alicia Keys alongside John Mayer and Raphael Saadiq, Lesson Learned is definitely mind blowing. Ps: It is always my consolation song. I know Mrs Swizz Beats has been tagged a husband snatcher on all social grounds, but here is the real deal, When Alicia Keys hits the piano and graces the atmosphere with her beautiful vocals, she SNATCHES my heart away! If you are a hater and you cant swallow, shut up **** gaggle! Get inspired with the Lyrics below

LESSON LEARNED By Alicia Keys feat. John Mayer
He broke my heart
And now it’s raining
Just to rub it in
I’m at your door
I feel so crazy about it
You’ll say I told you so
You saw it long ago
You knew he had to go
I finally came ’round
I’m back on solid ground
Can’t let it get me down

It’s alright
It’s alright
It’s alright

Yes I was burned but I called it a lesson learned
Mistake overturned
So I call it a lesson learned
My soul has returned
So I call it a lesson learned
Another lesson learned

Sometimes
Some lies
Can take a minute
To fully realize
His tears
Your eyes
Thirty seconds to apologize
You give it one more chance
Just like the time before
But he already knows you’d give a hundred more
Until that night in bed
You wake up in a sweat
You’re racing to the door
Can’t take it anymore

I was burned but I called it a lesson learned
Mistake overturned
So I call it a lesson learned
My soul has returned
So I call it a lesson learned
Another lesson learned

Life’s perfect
Ain’t perfect
If you don’t know what the struggle’s for
Falling down ain’t falling down
If you don’t cry when you hit the floor
It’s called the past cause I’m getting past
And I ain’t nothing like I was before
You ought to see me now

Yes I was burned but I called it a lesson learned
Mistake overturned
So I call it a lesson learned
My soul has returned
So I call it a lesson learned
Another lesson learned

Yes I was burned but I called it a lesson learned
Mistake overturned
So I call it a lesson learned
My soul has returned
So I call it a lesson learned
Another lesson learned
